The Values We Live By
Licensed & Cross-trained Psychotherapist
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Michigan and a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) credentialed by the Certification Board For Music Therapists.
Meet Elizabeth Raleigh, LPC, MT-BC
Sound Moments, LLC is located in Battle Creek, MI. My practice is dedicated to providing professional, compassionate psychotherapy services for older adults and their families as they navigate challenges such as life transitions, illness, dementia, and caregiving. I offer a safe and respectful space where individuals and families can share concerns, strengthen coping skills, set wellness goals, and feel supported. My approach integrates person-centered counseling with evidence-based practices-including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), music therapy, and life review methods. I also facilitate individual and small group sessions to address depression, anxiety, and social connection. Grounded in commitment to dignity, autonomy, and mutual support, my work is focused on helping both individuals and families thrive. In addition to private practice, I am active in advocating for dementia awareness and community support in Calhoun County.
Vision
To build supports and programs in our community that honor older adults and foster inclusiveness for all.
Mission
Our mission is to provide professional psychotherapy services in an environment that promotes dignity and respect.
Individual psychotherapy for adults provides a supportive, confidential space to reflect, heal, and grow. Therapy honors the depth of lived experience while addressing present-day concerns such as life transitions, grief and loss, changes in health, identity, relationships, and emotional well-being.
Sessions are tailored to each person’s unique history, values, and goals. Therapy may focus on coping with anxiety or depression, adjusting to retirement, navigating caregiving roles, processing past experiences, strengthening resilience, or finding renewed meaning and purpose. The pace of therapy is collaborative and respectful, allowing time for reflection, insight, and integration.
This approach emphasizes dignity, autonomy, and emotional connection. Therapy supports individuals in understanding their experiences, building on personal strengths, and developing practical strategies to improve quality of life—while recognizing that growth and change remain possible at every age.
Group Psychotherapy
Group psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach in which a small group of individuals meet regularly with a trained therapist to address emotional, psychological, and social challenges. It provides a supportive environment where members share experiences, learn coping skills, and reduce feelings of isolation. Common topics include depression, anxiety, grief, health-related changes, and life transitions. The group format promotes peer support, emotional expression, and improved well-being, while being cost-effective and socially engaging for participants.
Telehealth Sessions
Telehealth psychotherapy is the delivery of mental health services through video calls or secure online platforms. It allows older adults to receive therapy from home, improving access for those with mobility limitations, chronic illness, transportation barriers, or limited local services. Telehealth can addresses many of the same goals as in-person psychotherapy. With appropriate technical support and adaptations, telehealth can be an effective, convenient, and confidential alternative to in-person therapy.
When you partner with us we will guide you on every step of the journey.
